Lizzie Velasquez was born with neonatal progeroid syndrome, which affected her facial features and prevents her from gaining weight. One day on YouTube, she saw a video that called her the ugliest woman in the world. She was devastated, until she was asked to speak at a school. She saw compassion on students’ faces, and realized she doesn’t have to let her syndrome—or other people—define her. Even if you've seen her wonderful Tedx talk before, this short video is a wonderful reinforcement that one's values, feelings and dreams should be their standard of beauty.
